our first port on our cruise was to the beautiful island of grand turk. only 7 miles long and 1 mile wide, we enjoyed our time on this little island. grand turk is the 3rd best place for scuba diving in the world because of it's drop-off. as you can see in the photos, the water is a light blue around the island and where you see the contrast in color to dark blue is where the huge drop off is, hundreds of feet down. the water was crystal clear around the beach. kevin snorkeled for the first time! he was itching to go scuba diving, so his next goal is to become scuba certified.

we had such a fun christmas with kevin's family this year. it's been so fun getting to know all of his siblings and their spouses and the best part of being married is automatically gaining adorable nieces and nephews!

since we did the cruise together this year, kevin and i decided on only stuffing each others stockings for christmas. he did a pretty good job getting me things that i love! it's a good test to see how well you know each other, and we passed it.

also, we magically had a little bit of snow on christmas day! i hope all of you enjoyed the holidays and spending time with those you love.

now let's bring on the new year!

we made it back to oklahoma safely and enjoyed our time in the caribbean! i will definitely be updating this blog with lots of photos from our cruise. i also thought i would start a new travel series of the places we visit since we're planning on being world travelors (europe is definitely happening this summer!) 

i can't believe christmas is in two days! and we still have christmas shopping to do... merry christmas!

i've been looking at my film camera sitting on the shelf collecting dust and decided to do something about it. i researched the camera i have and came across the manual for it! thank goodness, because i have no clue how to use film cameras. step one is complete! i'm excited to take some photos on our cruise next week. i'm crossing my fingers the photos turn out okay!

when it comes to everything in my life, i try to remember to keep it simple. whether it's organizing or decorating my home to incorporating it in my graphic design and photography, simplicity is key.

especially during the past few weeks of finals for the semester and the holidays, i've lost myself in (what i feel like is) chaos. when my apartment isn't tidy and clean, when i don't know what to cook for dinner, or when i haven't taken the time to sit down and think about me and how i am doing, i feel completely unorganized and stressed. the key to keeping it simple is doing the baby steps of organizing your life by not overloading yourself with a million things to do on your check-list. (which i am completely guilty of.) take the time to prioritize and work from there. it's not always easy, but in the end, it will simplify your life and bring you peace. which is what we all want, right?

i had fun creating this little christmas design. using the illustrator pen tool, i traced my little reindeer decoration as my idea for this design. isn't it adorable? at least i think it is... especially rudolph, easily seen amongst the rest.

it's getting down to a week left of this semester (!!!) and then i'll be smooth sailing to the caribbean with my husband. i can't wait to feel the warm sunshine again!

this video really touched my heart. this christmas season, of giving and love and charity, is all because of our Savior, Jesus Christ. we wouldn't be having Christmas without Christ. it's easy to get wrapped up in the spirit of giving gifts and thinking of what to buy for your spouse or family and friends, but we need to remember to take a step back and think about the reason behind the season, Christ. i hope this video touches your heart as it did mine today.
