i got my hair cut a few weeks ago and love having it short! i guess i'm sporting the "mommy short hair" look already ;)


How far along are you? 18 weeks - almost halfway there 

that's the question i always get asked now that i am graduated... well i'll tell you what i do all day. since i got a sewing machine from my parents for christmas, i've been busy sewing all day! one of the reasons i got so impatient to know the gender of our baby was because i had no clue if i should be sewing more blue or pink blankets... so to stop my sewing insanity, i booked that ultrasound. now i have a peace of mind knowing that we're having a little boy! which i'm especially grateful for since i had already sewn a blue baby blanket to test out my new sewing machine. :)

i'm now working on a baby quilt that i'm really excited about. i'm also learning what not to do when sewing a quilt... you live and you learn!

just as we felt, our intuition was right -- we're having a BOY! i couldn't be more excited; especially since i have been sewing blue blankets and boy burp rags lately... :)

we were planning on waiting a couple more weeks to find out at my next appointment, but i got so anxious and impatient to know that i told kevin i was going to book a gender reveal ultrasound asap and that's what happened today! it was amazing seeing our little guy moving around in my belly. it didn't take long for the ultrasound lady to identify the gender - his position made it very clear to us that those were boy parts! now that we know our little Colsen Mehner will be coming to us, it feels more real that we'll be having a new addition to our family in just 5 months! i cannot wait to meet this little one soon.

** we also surprised our family with announcing the gender earlier than expected!

Looking: forward to next month and finding out if we're having a boy or girl.. i seriously cannot wait!

Wishing: we were already in utah; i'm getting tired of the idaho cold
Enjoying: time with kevin. it's great having this time to spend together because i know that once summer comes, i won't have much time with him.
Waiting: for spring time... can it come sooner please?

How far along are you? 16 weeks! yay for the second trimester!

while visiting seattle for the christmas break, we drove a few hours to explore this festive city. i've always wanted to see what it looks like all lit up for the holidays. it was full of people and lots of little shops to take a look in.

we loved visiting seattle for the holidays. it was wonderful to have all of my family together. now we're back in the cold idaho weather and planning out our adventures life is giving us this year.
