always strive to improve
since we were so busy this break and didn't get to take a christmas card photo, i thought i'd just use this photobooth strip from my sister's wedding as our belated new years card. Happy New Years everyone! the third photo down cracks me up... we were just a tad bit late with scoring a kissing photo so now it's the awkward "almost there" photo. just don't stare at it too long...
just like every new year, you make new years resolutions! ...and the next month break them. BUT this year we are making some goals together as a couple to improve our bodies spiritually, physically and mentally. it's been an adjustment period the past few months getting to know each other better, strengthening our friendship and relationship and learning to work as a team. communication is key! it was a blessing having many long roadtrips and a 7 day cruise during the break to spend quality time together. it's so easy to get caught up with school and work during the semester, so it was refreshing having that time to spend with each other with no distractions.
going on a cruise + holiday eating = more added lbs than you want! so we have decided to start a gluten free and sugar free lifestyle change to improve our health. we're excited for this new change by eating healthier and being more aware of what we are putting into our bodies. i would love any recipe suggestions for any of you GF&SF eaters out there! the next thing on our list to buy is a juicer (anyone have any suggestions for a good brand?)
make those goals and let me know what you're planning on improving this winter! because making short term goals are easier to achieve and less daunting :)

Good for you! My husband and I got this one as a wedding gift and we are obsessed with it! We use it on a daily basis. Definitely a good investment. Look for one that has a wide enough mouth that you won't have to chop up larger fruits (i.e. apples/oranges/etc). Good luck! :)

those pictures are so awesome! you two are adorable!
ReplyDeletei did a no sugar thing last summer. it was hard to get used to at first but after a week it started to become second nature and i didnt even want it anymore then.
i recommend using truvia( its an all-natural sweetner/replacement for sugar) when you need it in recipes and things like that.
good luck with it all:)

We bought an omega juicer with Christmas money (found a great deal on Amazon). We use it about 3 times a week and love coming up with new veggies and fruit combos to try. And our kids will even drink what we come up with and it's great because we sneak lots of veggies in & they don't even know it!

aha! He has *the* fish face haha :) we've found that having multiple things served is helpful even psychologically. haha. chicken quinoa and veggies is so yummy! there are a lot of options such as rice noodle--which my sound nasty--but are so good! to me, better than traditional noodles.
ReplyDeletegood luck!
leave us some love
