last month i traveled with some girl friends to Bali for a girls trip! our husbands get to go on a guys trip at the end of the summers for work. the past several years they've gone to hawaii and this year was to the dominican republic, so we figured us ladies deserved our own girls trip! ;) we ended up finding an awesome groupon deal to BALI and figured, why not go?! go big or stay home, am i right?!




it was a LOT of travel time to get there. we flew from SLC to Los Angeles. Then got on a flight to Taipei, Taiwan (14 hour flight- longest flight i've ever been on) then we had a few hours of layover time. we ate at a restaurant in the airport to kill some time then hopped on our next flight to Bali which was about 5 hours long. with the time change and traveling all those hours, we basically didn't get to sleep in a bed for 2 nights! so that was exhausting and we were definitely jet lagged. Our Groupon deal was for 5 nights in a 5 star hotel with breakfast every morning and several other things included, one being a free 30 minute massage (aahhhh). It was probably the nicest hotel i've ever stayed at. The pool was literally outside our balcony. All the people we met there were the nicest people!

The first day we were there, we went with a tour guide to several locations. We stopped to see a play, a volcano and a few temples. We also stopped at the beautiful rice terraces and ate at a restaurant over-looking them. It was SO cool!!





































One of the other days, we decided to do a catamaran tour to an island nearby. One the island there were several things to do like going in a semi-submarine to see all the fish, swimming, lunch buffet, going to the island's downtown, etc. The boat ride was about 2 hours there and a little shorter going back (but it felt much longer and it was very choppy water) We had a really fun time there and a few hours we relaxed on the beach.














A couple of the days we relaxed and enjoyed each others company. One day we walked around to shop and found some delicious gelato. Another day we kicked up our feet and napped and hung out around the hotel! It was such a fun girls trip -- time flew by! Bali almost feels like it was a dream...
